A colleague asks you to pass on a message. Short and snappy, it feels like a code used to gain access to a portal. You agree to pass it on.
You reach some folks who were supposed to hear the words. Straining to get them right, you do as you promised. The recipients smile knowingly and add a contentious word to the message.
The next set of people is looking chuffed and possibly smug to hear you utter the words. Slowly it dawns on you that you are being used as figure of fun and derision in a psychological battle you had no idea you were conscripted for.
Slogans are relayed back and forth. They become part of a person’s vocabulary. If they haven’t come from within, who is to say they are articles of belief or faith?
Belief provides focus and activates behaviour.
