Aimed at children from all backgrounds, the audiobook combines engaging storytelling with the richness of African heritages, delivering timeless lessons wrapped in entertaining narratives.

Whisper in your Ear contains 12 stories, each crafted to blend African values with modern themes that reflect the diverse and multicultural landscape of today’s Britain. Perfect for children aged 4 – 8 years old, the audiobook introduces characters and adventures that encourage creativity, kindness and cross-cultural understanding.

Unlike many children’s audiobooks, Whisper in your Ear offers a fresh perspective, by celebrating the vibrant tapestry of London’s African subcultures. From crafty animals of the savanna to colourful characters, set in contemporary London, each story is thoughtfully narrated by the author, to captivate young listeners, while promoting inclusivity and representation.

Juwon Ogungbe, the audiobook’s author and narrator says – ‘I have met thousands of children over several decades, through my work in music, theatre and education. They grow up in communities, developing sensibilities that are fuelled by a diverse range of cultures and traditions. With the stories in this audiobook, I aim to share insights and other things I have learned from witnessing the thought processes some children go through as they develop their own ways of perceiving the world.’
