This saying is often used in reference to the energies and efforts of ambitious folks. Most of the time, we don’t know what it will feel like to achieve or attain the things we aim for.
Opportunities come and go. If we choose to let them glide past, sometimes we expend energy in speculating about what might have been. It can be tricky, making appropriate choices when one knows what it is like to sit in the silent moments, twiddling one’s thumbs.
As someone once said to me, some chances arrive like buses. Either one spends ages waiting, or several of them arrive at the same time.
