From a detached standpoint, it is understandable that human beings often want more than they actually have. Even wealthy people are likely to covet certain things they perceive in the lives of those with less means.
If one accepts this as a fact of life, then maybe the next thing to consider is the way we handle the feeling that we lack something.
Any behaviour that aims to coerce someone else to fit snugly within a personal worldview could be regarded as obnoxious.
