My favourite contemporary author has expressed thoughts and feelings about ‘public tellers of stories’. I like to think the human race in general is attracted to tales and those who tell them.
There are many options to choose from in telling stories. Idioms, styles, genres from across the world are available to each person. Inspiration should be the motivating factor in making choices in this regard.
Some are inclined towards interpretation as their primary act. Others are drawn to creation and initiating things.
The special interpreters are wondrous to witness. I was blessed to see Rudolf Nureyev onstage in the year before his demise.
Those who create new work that is special also have their moments. I spent a memorable afternoon once on a barge with Lindsay Kemp and members of his troupe. Luminaries come with an assorted range of attributes.
