Terminology used for identifying or categorising ourselves as individuals is becoming more nuanced than ever before.

I can walk down the streets of my neighbourhood, going about my business and an onlooker might have their own ideas about who I am.

When I wake up in the morning, the thoughts and feelings that float to my mind’s surface might tell me something different to what the observer might have seen.

But even those thoughts and feelings are separate from the inner observer, who is actually me.

Above and beyond the data that my mind perceives and processes, any interests I have that are legally acceptable should be regarded as valid.
