As the saying goes, ‘it ain’t over till it’s over.

Human beings go through several stages of life. A youngster asked if Jazz could be described as ‘music for old people’. I explained that the music didn’t start out that way. I mentioned the fact that Ringo Starr is currently over 80 years old, so everything should be seen in context.

Images of nubile females or virile males from various eras are available to appreciate, whether they were painted, sculpted, drawn, photographed or filmed. No one remains at the same stage of growth forever.

A young person can draw inspiration from the energy and vitality of folks at a particular stage, only to look at the same person’s image further down the line, wondering ‘what happened?’

Are there inspirational offerings that stand outside of time and the ageing process?
