‘Prosperity’ is inspired by the second phase of activities in the Odun Omo Olowu – an annual homecoming festival that is observed in Orile Owu – a city state in Southwestern Nigeria, which is where my father’s family originates from’ – Ogungbe says. ‘I hope it will give listeners a glimpse into the dreams, goals and aspirations of a community that is sometimes misunderstood’.
Juwon Ogungbe regards himself as a singing theatre artist. He has composed, directed, and performed in many shows and productions for leading British theatre and opera companies over several decades.
