Maps and territories constantly emerge in my conscious awareness. The trusty old A-Z of yesteryears is now obsolete. Satnavs and Google Maps have taken its place.
If I know the back streets of a place I intend to visit, I look at the map as a reference point and then I compare the instructions with messages from my intuition. This is the way I choose to plan journeys nowadays.
Why should it be different in other parts of one’s life? The textbook approach to getting something done might produce an ersatz result, but hitting the spot or surpassing expectations is usually achieved through other methods and means.
Those methods are dependent to an extent on personal attributes. One performer can make provocative statements that another might regard as being outside of his or her permissible boundaries. Context matters.
Everyone has a contribution to make. There’s a lot to be said for the personal touch.
