Revisionists often concoct false narratives to justify the activities of their forebears.
For example, a King of the Zulus was depicted in a film as callous to the extent of flinging one of his own babies away, when the child was presented to him by the mother.
Anyone who watched that film who happened to be unaware of the ulterior motives of its makers would assume that the King was wild, senseless and savage.
But the agenda in the storytelling was to set up the observer to sympathise with interlopers from another continent who wanted to create confusion and make profit out of it.
If the quality of communication was compromised to that extent, over a hundred years ago, why should people think anything is true in this day and age?
