I had a Facebook Live chat last week with Daniela De Armas, to mark the release of my new single ‘I’m Hanging In There’ – Part one of a series of songs entitled ‘Oshun’s Embrace.
In our conversation, Daniela pointed out that Oshun would not be her first port of call, if she was looking for advice about anything to do with making life changing decisions.
Before that, I explained to her that the main character in my song series is testifying about having relied on Oshun for guidance.
For those who don’t know, Oshun is an Orisha – in other words, a deity in the Yoruba pantheon who presides over rivers and other water sources.
Oshun’s pronouns are she/her.
